Quantum leap (June 2024)

“Quantum Leap” is based in the city of Chicago. This piece expresses the power of music and use of imagination as it can impact your soul on a positive or negative frequency. The flower represents a young brave heart who’s leaving one world that’s familiar, but it appears gray & somewhat lifeless— to entering a more vibrant & unknown world that may appear to have obstacles/illusions within the path, but its promising. You’ll notice instruments such as congas & the guitar. Congas were a common instrument used by ancestors in festivals, ceremonies & rituals; they were developed by the people of the Bantu region in Central Africa, which then spread to the rural areas of Cuba during the 19th century. Soon Afro-Cuban musicians began combining African music with Creole & Spanish music. Congas represent protection & unity in my eyes. The chess pieces to express intellectual curiosity & the clock on the chessboard to represent time is an illusion.
